Accelerated Degree Program – Should One Opt?

The need to match educational opportunities and an individual’s workcommitments in these economic times is an urgent and fast growing requirement.Accelerated degrees are designed to fulfill just this need and are beingoffered by the best institutions in the country. These degrees are created soas to facilitate education of working people of any age profile.While a normalundergraduate degree would take up to four years, the same can be obtained inas little as 36 months with an accelerated program. These degrees also have theadded incentive of being significantly cheaper than traditional courses. Inaddition to this, fast track programs allow for employees to acquire moreresponsibilities at work and gain theoretical qualifications concurrently.Combining traditional education frameworks and new technology, these degreesare the forefront of providing an opportunity to working people to access aneducation at any stage in their life.
The learning experience in an accelerated program is extremely intense andhence is highly suited for motivated people. It allows you to complete therequired coursework within an abbreviated span of time, but this calls forscheduling and discipline. It is important to note that the courseworkrequirements in such programs stay the same as other traditional courses. Oneshould therefore carefully review one’s prior time commitments to maximize thebenefits offered by such an education. It is also necessary to review therequirements of your chosen course and maintain a list of all submissions andprojects ahead of schedule. Keep an eye on the finances involved over the whole duration of youreducation. Accelerated programs may be cheaper but they are not eligible forfunding and financial aid. Also check regarding cancellation fees andrefunds.
Make inquiries about the admission policies and entrance requirements asthey vary from program to program. Work experience and personal referrals aregiven importance during the process. Credits may also be transferable fromprevious programs.
Factor in commitments to the course such as class schedules and group studysessions. In case you have to be present for a minimum number of classes ortutorials, it is better to know about this in advance and avoid any laterpenalties.
